Mount Gay Extra Old (often written "OX") is a blend of rums aged between 8 and 15 years in American bourbon barrels.
Mount Gay Distilleries is the oldest operating distillery in the Americas - producing rum in Barbados since 1703. It's original name was Mount Gilboa, and in 1801 renamed Mount Gay after the distillery's manager Sir John Gay Alleyne.

This rum is aromatic and has stronger smoke taste.
Nice rum for sipping, not sweet. Interesting stuf. Need to try other bottles from this brand.
Can't speak highly enough of this chocolate, leather, woody caramel banana palet! An xo worthy of the name
I love Barbados rum more than any other, and this takes the crown..... From the cask flavours to the fruits, to the chocolate. The nose is instantly recognisable and just makes me smile
Enjoy a drop , nothing to regret on this one! How this drink make the things easy
Barbados. 8-15 years in bourbon barrels. This is what I want in a rum. Noticeable but not overpowering sweetness. Bourbon notes are clear - flavors more toffee/caramel than banana/coconut. Looking forward to trying 1703.
If you enjoy Mount Gay, you'll love this rum.
Sweet but without being sickly. Normally with good rums I'd say don't mix, but for this a Dark'N'Stormy is the way to go.

"Mount Gay Extra Old rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
It is spicy especially on the finish and a little bit short.
"The nose is very fruity. Raisin, prunes and currants with a little banana and some tropical fruits a little pineapple perhaps."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

English style, probably the oldest known rum destillery worldwide (1703)
Nose: Seems to be much sweeter than later on the tongue.
Palate: pretty harsh and sharp, with little volume. Not lasting long.
