Mount Gay XO Extra Old

Well its a special one. Because it stood in a cognac barrel for several months it has that special cognac taste. In the nose it is spicey and dry. On the tongue some dark chocolat. You have to drink it with a good cigar :)

komplex , trocken , wenig Süß , feiner Rum.

complex , dry , not very sweet , fine rum.

I felt lole there wasn't as much flavor as I expected for an XO.

Other Mount Gay's are pretty rank. This one isn't.

Has a stronger finish than others I have tried. The slight Moca flavor adds to it enjoyment

It may not look special but it more then makes up for it wit a great taste.

Très bon, mais rien d'original. Bon rapport qualité-prix. Bon seul, ou pour mixer.

Po dva večery jsem testoval tohoto Gaye, jednou přímé srovnání s Pampero Aňiversario, podruhé s Diplomatico Añejo.
Aroma: Kávový likér, jako by na mě vykoukla Kahlúa, ale jen s částí své sladkosti, tady jí je špetka. (85 b)
Chuť: Dřevitost, kořenitost, charakterem spíš do whisky než do rumu. Trochu v chuti zklamal.
Dochuť krátká, dřevitá. (82 b)
Shrnutí: Oproti Pampero je Gay rozhodně méně rumový, Pampero je sladší, vyzrálejší a lahodnější.
Za dochuť a celkový charakter se přikloňuji k nižší známce a zaokrouhluju směrem dolů.

A very fine XO rum that will have a fixed place in my cabinet.

Tasted. Nice sweet but stingy taste. Mollase with chocolate taste, with pinch of cinnamon, orange and vanilla. Full rich body. Smell is not very intense. Good for sipper for people who can't decide between stronger and sweeter taste.
