Mount Gay Eclipse

This smells like rum tastes like rum and it's is pritty good. When you think of pirates and the Caribbean or the royal navy this is what it tastes like. This is some good stuff.

A good solid rum with an entertaining name.

For $20, you'd be hard pressed to find a better rum. Very smoothe! A tad on the sweet side with very prevalent molasses/burnt sugar notes, but not too sweet. I really enjoy this one.

If I had to pick a go-to for rum and coke, it would be this. Easy to find almost anywhere and a good price. It's the standard others are measured against.

My entry to the "real" rum world, brilliant with tropical fruit juice or in a Cuba Libre

8/10 as a mixology rum
4/10 as a straight rum

Very unpleasant in nose, taste kind of synthetic. Yet works so well in drinks, never understood that.

I find this to be an all around solid rum. Golden in color, it's citrusy/orange notes are the heavy hitters. Some heat in the throat but smoothes out and leaves a nice aftertaste. I mix, mainly for cuba libres, but it passes as a sipper.

Trying to find a better go to rum than Bacardi. This is now my go to rum for the price.

This is an excellent gold rum. This easily crushes any of the bacardi offerings and is not too much more. Any recipe that requires gold rum should have this. Looking forward to trying the bigger brother, the black barrel, hopefully it only builds on the solid flavor and body this rum is built from.

I can't remember other rums with this kind of citrus aroma and taste. Unique and nice spiced rum for the price.
