Rum tasting in Tirana Albania continued with Chantal Comte La Tour de l'Or Brut de Fût 2005. Nice old school bottle and label design. Reddish mahogany color. Strong cherry flavors mixed with plenty of grassy and earthy Rhum Agricole flavors to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Sweet and strong burn at the end.

Vanilie i duft. Peber og vanilie i smag. Også lidt røg. Lagret på fransk eg. Romhattens favorit inden for 3 år.

Country of Origin: Martinique

Color:
Shiny russet-auburn

Nose:
Very intensive - even from the distance it smells very fruity and creamy. Smells like raspberry sirup with some additional apple sirup, rose hip jam, pomegranate, passion fruit and cassis. Furthermore there is burnt toffee and a whiff of smoke.

Palate:
Bold, fruity (raspberries again) and spicy (Jalapeños, aniseed and cloves).
Raspberry jam, raspberry sirup and raspberry punch. Fruity and spirituous, reminds me of a raspberry punch with added rum. Furthermore there are notes of caramel (Werthers Echte)

Finish:
Long and dry. You can still taste the raspberries. Furthermore there are notes of tea and ouzo.

Summary:
A heavenly rum - one of the best I have ever tasted.
