Chamarel VS, an Agricole rum from Mauritius, aged for 3-4 years, bottled with 40 %. Presented in a real nice bottle.
Nose : a basket of fresh fruits ... apricot, pear, coconut, grapes, peach. Vanilla. No sharpness in the nose, nothing burns, nothing that bothers.
Palate : really smooth. Fruity again, hints of sugar cane and wood. Notes from cognac. Nothing extraordinary but also good and not a typical Agricole. The barrel has done a good job over the 3 years.
Finish : medium to long. Fruits are going home at first. Sweet vanilla and wood remain for last greetings from Mauritius.
Conclusion : good, solid rum, not only for Agricole friends, but for Agricole newcomers. Good value for money. Unfortunately nothing WOW. Between 7 and 8, but more 7.

Comfortable to drink but nothing 'wow'. Based on this would be keen to taste more Mauritian rums.

So many people are telling this one was full of aromas like vanilla, caramel, honey and oak. Yeah, there might be some of these slightly in the background but there is a very dominating spice which I can't tell what it is, but I don't like it that much.

Au nez, pas grand chose de fort ne se dégage.
En première gorgée, modéré en alcool.
Au final il ressemble a un Whisky relativement léger, pas vraiment à un rhum.

Also quite good for a 6 year, like it’s brother, the Chamarel XO. Definite anise flavour and a sippable rum, despite its age.

N- Another rum with lovely aroma, it seems that rum's name begin with alpha "C" were quite nice. Hearty, vanilla with fine blended whisky nuance. Honey syrup, dripping ripe lychee with scents of spent matches. Well aged with firm layer of white oak extracts. Minted chocolate and banana then with traces of herbs. (90/22)

P- Nutty, toasted oak with vanilla and herbs. Syrupy with scents of liquorice around the nose. (87/21)

F- Medium-long, love the warming feel, creamy, alluring and intoxicating (in a good way) oak influence. Sort chewy with light tannin, nice. (88/22)

B/B- 90/22

Weighted Rate- 87pt

Udemærket men en del smag af whisky, en god blanding og blev aldrig for meget, men alligevel en del whisky, og da jeg er rom-mand, så er karakteren derefter
