What a big disappointment the Duncan Taylor 12y Guyana rum 2002 from Diamond Distilleries really was. I thought of a very high end El Dorado lookalike rum, but no, this is a glue and rubber smelling and tasting rum from Guyana, very similar to the Jamaican glue rums. Just simply awful stuff.
Nice light gold color. The first nose is on exotic fruits and solvent. A bit like a Jamaican rum. But we go very quickly on the earthy side see mineral. In the mouth, the mineral takes over and it sticks well to the palate. Nice long finish on the exotic fruits and minerality. Superb.
