This one I have found to be a good rum to drink over ice if you like a stronger flavor than just the normal spiced rum. Some one mentioned better than Drano and I have to admit i have never tasted Drano so cant compare it LOL

Not bad for a spice rum but I’m still looking for a great spiced rum. Strong at 47%.

Yes, you have tried the original spiced rum .UPGRADE ...NOW !!
This isn’t for the faint hearted ......more kick this gives !...MMMMMM
I find with most spiced rums, they take away the taste of the original spirit. This is not too bad as far as it goes. Good for parties when mixed with coke.

Much kickier than regular Captain Spiced, but not just stronger tasting. This is a different taste altogether. Less vanilla, more nutmeg. No burn.
Smooth, but a little much for drinking neat or on ice. Mixes well with cola.

After 15 years of aged rum tastings and after well over 600 aged rums later I ventured to try out the Captain Morgan Bold Spiced rum for the very first time in my life. And the very last time. Such an overwhelming amount of artificial flavors that it tastes really offputting. For your own sanity, go right now to your closest liquor store and buy a bottle of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, try it out and you will never ever even think about Captain Morgan again.
The top 10 worst rums I have ever tried:
1. Barbancourt 4y / 8y / 15y
2. Bounty Dark Rum from Fiji
3. Stroh 40 / 80
4. Plantation Pineapple Stiggin's Fancy
5. Villa Rica 23y
6. Mocambo 15y / 20y
7. Captain Morgan different variations
8. Don Papa 10y / 15y
9. Bacardi flavored "rums", all of them
10. Kraken rums

Unsurprisingly, this is a spicier version of the original Captain Morgan Spiced rum. Fragrant with cinnamon and nutmeg the palate is smooth with a distinguishing warm finish. Serve in your favourite mixed drink or on the rocks with a twist of orange but not for serving neat or on the rocks.

Better than I expected 5 out of 10

Bottled at 50% abv, the nose reminds me initially of powdered hot chocolate or packaged cake mix - fake but enticing... There is also a pleasant green lumber note in the nose that is not what I expected, in a good way. The palate has some sweetness, with faint spice but no readily discernible component tastes...and yet, it has a decent roundness and mouthfeel. I’m not a huge seeker of spiced rums and while this is no better than a 5, I was expecting much worse. I would never seek this out but in a pinch, it’s not terrible, either.
