Tasted in Bothell WA at Northshore Lagoon, June 27 2023
Appearance: amber
Aroma: butterscotch
Flavor: caramel, bandaid, and vanilla.
Slightly lip-numbing
This is a tasty rum, which I think we can all agree is hard to do with this style
❤️

Tasted at North Shore Lagoon tiki bar on 6/27/23. Dark gold amber color. Cheese cheddar port/ brandy ripe fruit. Great aroma. Big oily mouthfeel. Burn is significant. Rich plums dates raisins . Leathery. Burnt brown sugar. Sugary sweetness opens up with water drops. Sugar cane sweet now.

Young and citrus forward with a light, fruity sweetness, a hint of funk and a bright grassiness reminiscent of a tequila blanco. Very enjoyable on the rocks, especially at such a high proof. Not as bold and complex as other molasses based pot still rums (like Wray etc.) but offers something a little less intense and easier on the palate.

67.5% ABV (135 proof) rum from Hillsboro, Oregon. Double-distilled from "diamond 007" molasses in an antique French still, then aged in ex-Cognac barrels for six months.

Sharp nose. Slightly grassy, some candy. A little funky! Palate: absolutely delicious. Full-flavored, not overly oaked. Quickly fills the mouth with heat, then steadily fades. With water: some tropical fruit.

This rum is lovely! A less-funky alternative to Wray & Nephew that could work wonders in a cocktail or be enjoyed neat.
