Well hello to you, too! Here’s one sharp & prickly rum. Quite a little burn there, though there’s no unpleasant alcohol on the nose. Good thing it’s got a bit of character—I’m guessing this is a pot-still rum, aged 2–5 years in newish oak, offered at around 100 proof. Soon I hope to re-check the bottle and see whether or not I’m right :) In any case, it’s a capably made rum, especially for an American craft distiller (the bar is low). Being so sharp and dry, this should work well with an ice cube, in an Old Fashioned or even a rum Manhattan, and lends itself to experimentation with established sour tiki cocktails.
