Sugar: 0 GPL. This is a cheap bar rum that I had in Cuba last week. It's got a strong chemical smell and taste that you need Pina Colada mix to hide it in, and even then it's still got a nasty taste to it. Do yourself a favour and ask for Havana Club and tip the bartender to to keep this one away from your glass.

Enjoyed a glass of Ron Mulata Añejo Blanco at La Bodequita del Medio in Ciudad de Mexico. Not for neat sipping, but very tasty on a Mojito.

I'm not so knowledgeable of white Ron, but this surprised me completely.
Matured for three years in a white oak barrel.
Golden reflections in a clear glass.
In the nose, very inviting, mmm ...a freshly cracked coconut stuffed with liquorice sticks and poured with absinthe.
On the palate, fresh tropical fruits with spices and herbs floating in coconut milk.
In the finish, the aromas drift away on a subtle sweetness. Delicious and long lasting.

Dry and light. Not añejo enough to get the golden color of the barrel but still ok for coctails.
