New Grove Single Cask Rum 2005 - 55 °, barrel 68-16, 392 bottles, aged in limousin oak barrels, selection for 10 years of The Nectar:
The color looked slightly darker than mahogany.
The nose is on something that looks sweet and creamy, toffee on the whole!
But not that: the fruits (citrus fruits in the head but also yellow fruits and exotic fruits) prevent the whole from falling into the disgusting.
Finally, some spices come to enhance the whole.
As the nose foretold, the mouth is very round. I would even say that it is "plating" so much the liquid is present in the mouth.
This "caramelized" impression perceived in the nose is this time predominant.
The fruity side (pineapple and other exotic fruits) is there but is largely in the background.
Level retro-olfaction, one remains on the caramel but this time the fruits (citrus fruits, yellow fruits) play the same. Finally, some spicy notes (pepper and clove) appear.
The finish is - again - moderately long, on the spices noted above with always this round side that we owe to these fruity aromas (always citrus). Finally, some woody notes punctuate the whole.

Une vraie découverte. La cuvée 2005 est la meilleure... un goût puissant d'agrumes avec un rétro délicieux!

Ce New Grove 2005 SB speciale Belgique est très bien avec des watts permanent. Peut etre un peu trop présent.

This New Grove Single Barrel has won some medals in 2016 so I was a little bit curious to discover it.
This New Groove looks sharp and dry when you smell it but it is quite smooth when you sip it.
You will find some fruity and woody aromas with a little spicy touch.

Only 300 bottles made for the belgium market
very strong at 55 %.
Not too sweet with tropical fruit flavours and a medium to long finish.
