Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Enjoyed some Monymusk Special Gold while in London. It has a nice and deep color, quite a strong alcohol smell to nose very similar to the cheaper Appleton's, and then you get the familiar Jamaican glue to your taste buds. Just awful. Struggles for a 4 score.
Decent enough mixer, but surprisingly un-Jamaican in flavour/profile.
The bottle itself says it's made in the new section of the distillery, which suggests its a column still.
Because of this its not what you expect from a Jamaican rum. If you forget about this, its a decent, but forgetable rum.
Their higher-end rums are made from their pot still in the older section of the distillery, so you can't really use this to get an idea of they'll be any good unfortunately.
