Flawed with a glimmer of hope
Had a rum tasting on a sunny afternoon, because why not. Chairman's Reserve Silver Rum bottle and label design looks decent but nothing special. Pure alcohol to the nose and palate. Strong burn at the end. Just barely mixable.
Blend of rums aged 2–4 years (pot & column), according to their website. Bit of a nail polish nose. Pretty bland taste; I'd say it was over-filtered and over-diluted. Not bad, though, really. Good bite to it. I think this would be an excellent mixer.
