Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.
Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.

It does it’s job. Coconut rum, not bad but doesn’t really belong on here with these other great drinks
Good mixing liqueur. Sweet and strong coconut flavour, ideal for cheap pina coladas. Comes in at 20% easy to drink straight not great but it's alright with coke
Yeah, I agree that Malibu gets no respect. Why anyone would want to drink this straight up is beyond me. I use it sparingly in tropical cocktails to add some coconut flavor. It is okay mixed with coke and lime too. I put a half-ounce in a mojito the other night and it was fantastic. If you are making rum based drinks for friends, you need a bottle of 'bu in the cabinet.
I tried some on the rocks and it is just to sweet. It is probably fine in a fruity drink with an umbrella on a sunny beach.
It's great for coffee or dessert , but ths isn't really a rum.
This is pure college rum as I call it. No one will buy this to just sip on or have a friend over for a drink. You mix this with everything including frat party and then it will be in the right place. But doesn’t belong in my collection.
Reminds me of Hawaii. Its rare for me to use it back in Canada. I have the same bottle for about 10 years. That should tell you something.
À melted Sun Cream in à bottle... Who is suposed to Enjoy this !
Clear and only coconut on the nose. Sweet with no burn and strong artificial coconut flavour. A sweet liqueur but not a classic rum.
Good for cocktails, and that's about it. Not a fan
Sert uniquement à ajouter une touche d'alcool et de coco à vos cocktail.
Buen ron saborizado para preparación de bebidas en fiestas y eventos.
As coconut flavoured rum goes it's fine, but really it's just pre-pubescent party piss.
Nenazval bych to rum, ale pro děcka a ženy dobré. Zkoušel to už asi každý.
Cheap imitation of better rums. Either move toward a real rum with higher alcohol content or a better coconut flavor if it is desired. Try Old Master if you want a rich coconut flavor to make your island drinks pop.
Being a student I have had this a ton at parties where miraculously people enjoy it, but unless used in cocktails not worth your time. Ingredient list rather scary as well.
I remember much years younger when I had a taste of this on a flight, remember it tasting like coconut soap and thought it taste good. Now mature in the tongue and patiently savoring the flavors, this is just rough candied coconut that has some rum. The throat feel is like an okay wine, but this is a distilled product! Didn't have this as a mix, so probably better as that. If given to me, I would pass.
Tasty beverage, refreshing. Delicious with pineapple juice. In Spain is the only version of Malibu I can get.
This is in no way rum. It's just a liqueur with a strong coconut flavor.
This is not rum!!
Liqueur only for mixing drinks!
Not a real fan of coconut, but even with the gimmick of coconut this is still average rum
Really isn't rum Really isn't rum Really isn't rum Really isn't rum Because I have write something here.
Not sure why this is even on such a site, but hey ho. Seriously sweet, no real rum taste - this is school girl party cocktail mixer at best.
