Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.
Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.

In my mind there is only one use for this product and it is Pina Colada. Since I'm not a fan of that drink it is not easy to give more than 1 point for this since 0 is not available.
Esta hecho para los cocktails... 20 grados de alcohol, no es serio, no es ron.
Sladký je to dost ale nemám s tím problém. Chlastaj to hajtry hlavně.
I bought this to add to Caribbean island drinks. I would not classify this as a strict rum "rating" review, but this "rum" does a great job when you have a need for coconut flavor. I make a lot of these drinks for guests when talking about our cruise line adventures.
Wife loves it with Pineapple. Does taste great on a super hot summer night when I just want something light.
Can't be too hard on this rum. You're not buying it to impress your friends, rather, make a foo foo drink in hopes to get, Well you know.
Juicy sweet coco and rhum... Last time I had it was probably 14 years ago when I was 16. Never again
If anyone has a decent drinks cabinet will have it but I prefer with lemonade than coke...
'world’s best-selling Caribbean rum...

Sweet and BITTER???

Malibu Coconut Rum…Malibu is synonymous with the flavored rum category. Heck they might have invented it! Isn’t this usually everyone’s first coconut rum? Here I am just now getting to it. Was it worth the wait? Nope.
The aroma when I first opened the bottle was very nice. Pretty much what i expected. The smell suntan lotion. It’s like being poolside at a cheap hotel on a hot day. The taste? I was a bit let down. Sure there was some coconut and sugar. Lots of sugar really. But still I can’t believe with all that sweet how much of a bitter finish there is in Malibu Coconut Rum. Quite a bit of astringency for only clocking in at 42 octane. Even with a very small amount in my standard Tampico Citrus Punch that bitter finish just reared it’s ugly…tail.
The verdict? I will stick to Whaler’s or Cruzan for my low octane coconut rum mixers. Parrot Bay 90 proof coconut rum when I need some kick.
