Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.
Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.
good with pineapple juice
You get what you pay for with this one. This is a mainstream rum who targets young adults and ladies. It works in tropical cocktails very well tho.
I dont know from where i must begin.... Sugar for 10 years old boys, its time for party with cotton candy & clowns. Well down Malibu... for sirius rum lovers only.
Great for pina colada's or a splash mixed in with a rum and coke is great.
Absolutely perfect for your guests who want booze without tasting it in a fruity drink. Not a serious rum, but that doesn’t make it an awful product.
Not horrible but only as a mixer in something really fruity or pina colodas.
It's not the worst coconut rum out there, but it's close. There are so many other options these days and you're better off with nearly all of them.
Watch out, it's not really rum, but liqueur, so opinion, rating and point of view shall be little different, not offensive named as bad rum. Sweet liqueur with classic coconut taste. Nothing special, but as a sort of alcohol to get inside to body to have a nicer summer day, is this liqueur good mild and tasty.
I'm not even going to argue that "this isn't a real rum". It's just terrible. Plenty of better coconut rums out there.
It is a juice with coconut rum flavoring, actually not bad if you seek stuff like that.
If you enjoy anything about aged rums or really any other rum, then this will most likely be a horribly disappointing rum. However, if you have a sweet tooth like me and are willing to drink things that are probably not fit for human consumption, then this is a pretty good thing to sip on. My main complaint is that this doesn't really taste like coconut at all, like most coconut rums at this price point, so I consider it more of a candy than something to take seriously.
I agree with people criticising the chemical coconut aftertaste: it's very bad. The overall taste is terrible, it is just good for creating those cocktails that requires this rum. Drinking it straight is suicide.
Mixing rum for cocktails. I need my cabinet to remind me so I rated this with short description.
It does it’s job. Coconut rum, not bad but doesn’t really belong on here with these other great drinks
Good mixing liqueur. Sweet and strong coconut flavour, ideal for cheap pina coladas. Comes in at 20% easy to drink straight not great but it's alright with coke
Yeah, I agree that Malibu gets no respect. Why anyone would want to drink this straight up is beyond me. I use it sparingly in tropical cocktails to add some coconut flavor. It is okay mixed with coke and lime too. I put a half-ounce in a mojito the other night and it was fantastic. If you are making rum based drinks for friends, you need a bottle of 'bu in the cabinet.
I tried some on the rocks and it is just to sweet. It is probably fine in a fruity drink with an umbrella on a sunny beach.
It's great for coffee or dessert , but ths isn't really a rum.
This is pure college rum as I call it. No one will buy this to just sip on or have a friend over for a drink. You mix this with everything including frat party and then it will be in the right place. But doesn’t belong in my collection.
Reminds me of Hawaii. Its rare for me to use it back in Canada. I have the same bottle for about 10 years. That should tell you something.
À melted Sun Cream in à bottle... Who is suposed to Enjoy this !
Clear and only coconut on the nose. Sweet with no burn and strong artificial coconut flavour. A sweet liqueur but not a classic rum.
Good for cocktails, and that's about it. Not a fan
Sert uniquement à ajouter une touche d'alcool et de coco à vos cocktail.
