Canada | Flavored | 21% ABV

Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.

Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.

There are much better coconut rums out there. First thing its like 42 proof so its almost all water and sugar so I cant consider it a true rum, more like a liqueur. With that in mind you cant expect much as far as quality. Opening it you get a sugary coconut smell with no hints of alcohol. Drinking it is much the same you get a very distinct extract of coconut taste with a side of a large portion of sugar cane and thats about it. I prefer other coconut rums that dont use coconut extract because its just not anywhere near comparable to a natural coconut flavor. Which is why this rum loses points because it is beat out by a large amount of competitors.
Notes
-Not a liquor more a liqueur (low proof 42)
-Smells of coconut and sugar (no alcohol)
-Tastes like coconut EXTRACT and sugar cane
-There are better rums for the price that use a natural coconut and at higher proof
-Very fact manufactured taste

I've only ever used this in pina coladas, and it is fine for adding in that coconut flavor.

It’s a simple and cheap rum for when you need something to mix to add flavor or for when going to a party. Honestly started my rum addiction.

Its coconut liqueur at the end of the day. As a coconut liqueur it sets out what it accomplishes to do.

Drink it neat if you like coconut, or throw it in some lemonade for a beachy feeling simple mixed drink

Smells like sunscreen.

If you like fruity flavors with alcohol then boom. This what you need. It ain't crazy good or "deep" but it ain't terrible. Don't go in like a snob and you'll be fine. The coconut is really good. Literally mix it with anything you think you'll find good with coconut and you'll enjoy. Or just drink it straight bc that's great too. Definitely worth the $9 (give or take a lil) that is spent.

Not a rum, its liqueur with Coco flavor. Okay for pinacolada drinks.

Heavily flavored with coconut white rum. Very tasty in a classic combination with milk.

The rum is almost not present, the overall feeling is - sweet coconut water.

I question if this even really a rum or is just a liquor . Enjoy it on a hot summer day in a MBB.

The taste of coconut rum is never a bad thing. But I need to drink the whole bottle before feeling remotely drunk - so sweet. Diabetes alert!!
