Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.
Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.

I never mixed this one, but I have a feeling that it would go great with Pineapple juice. I prefer it chilled from the fridge.
Good in mixed drinks and hot chocolate.
clear, thick, stronger coconut flavour than a coconut, good in cocktails and for those wanting a sweet rum drink, it's low ABV puts outside our definition of rum, good when something a little stronger is added to it.
Like Parrot Bay, not a true Rum. Girlie drinks anyone?
I had this one on the rocks, not by my own doing though. It was extremely sweet, thank God I had ice to water it down a bit.
but it really is just standard. it taste like artificial coconut, but does well in mixed drinks.
I like Coconut rum for a cvhnage every once in awhile. Good mixer but not my first choice. Summer Rum only.
You just can drink that in a party. But it's the objective i think.
I can even hardly think about Malibu as a rum. I used to like it when I was young, a loooong time ago ^^
With some more years and experience, I can appreciate that this drink is too sweet and chemical. Good for cocktails and nothing more.
A good mixer
Really this is awful. Nuf said
Just too coconutty -- OK as a mixer
OK for Pina Colada
Out of Malibu's 4 Rums our favorite
This is not rum. This is ... Sparta ?
Basic coconut rum, good for piña coladas.
A good cocktail rum. Or if you aren't a rum lover like my gf,will do the job for a rum & pepsi mix. It's Coconut all the way
Standard coconut rum and coke found in every local pub
Probably the most recognizable coconut rum. The pina colada rum of choice
Its main use will be with drinks, to give a "caribbean" taste to your drinks.
Its coconut flavour ruin everything else the rum may have.
If you want coconut rum, then it's good
