Many thanks to Joola69 for sharing a bottle as part of a rare rum tasting event!

Since this rum is from Spain, and Spanish rum is my favorite style, I had high hopes for this.

But I felt this isn't as sweet as my favorite Spanish rums, and to me it tasted a bit over oaked.

Smells and tastes of oak, Oloroso sherry, molasses, and bourbon (which I'm not a huge fan of).

Not bad, but overpriced for my taste (though price doesn't factor into my rating).

51.5% ABV. Interesting nose; some industrial scents, oak, and... bubble gum? Probably not, but something fruity I can't nail down. It's very drinkable.

I tried this as well as the 20123 at a rum tasting and was very impressed. At first the taste is so different you swear it's not rum but it is indeed a very good rum. I think I need to try and find a bottle of both of these to do some more research!

hey make no age statement, and say only that it's made from Caribbean molasses, aged initially in used bourbon casks, finished in Olorosso (presumably in Spain). Edition of 1,500 bottles (I got #76). You're on your own past that.
Even as cask strength (51.5%), it's very smooth and easy - surprised me that it's over-proof.
For me, finishing in used casks other than bourbon can be hit-or-miss for me. Usually, if I want to taste sherry, I'd get a sherry. This was sherry-forward, but quite pleasant. Unfortunately, that's most of what I get from it: sherry nose, sherry flavor. If you like sherry, and want rum, well, there you go.
