Black Tears Spiced

I don't drink/like coffee and this has a strong coffee taste, so with lots of coke this one is OK.

The smell is delicious. Sweet but not overpowering and a well balanced rum. Neat it tastes a bit disappointing. Not smooth at all with a bit of burn. Mixed with coke it improves again and makes for a nice rum and coke. Overall - quite good as a mixer.

On the palate as in the nose: soft and sweet, full body with nuances of dark chocolate and toffee, rounded off by accents of coffee and dried dark fruits.

Is this really spiced? Everything so far in the spiced category for me is doused liberally in SUGAR! This NOT SO MUCH!!!
This is really aromatic, confusingly so as usually in spiced rum the aromatic element is vanilla or cinnamon. Apparently no vanilla in this baby, it’s cacao? coffee and chilli. It does have a spicy tingle but not overly pronounced, just a little tingle. Much like the coffee, its there but it’s not alone. I guess it’s the cacao that completes the profile. Pretty good mate! (Admittedly I wasn’t sure there was a point to any spiced rum in my life previously)

A divisive choice with a touch of vanilla, strong coffee, and a hint of cocoa. Sip it with caution :P

It’s not the best I’ve tried but neither the worst. Coffee and hints of vanilla. Smooth enough.

Look I know my rating may be too high but I just have a soft spot for strong coffee rums. This one is a good dessert rum. Just put a coffee bean or two into the glass and enjoy. Besides coffee, you'll also notice vanilla. I haven't tried it yet mixed, but I let you know when I do just that.

Really strong coffee flavour with a midlane rum. Not an extra, but if you like standard coffee taste it much better than a 6

Sipped on the rocks with a squeeze of lime to balance the cocoa/vanilla notes it's truly amazing!
