Black Tears Spiced

On a recent trip to Cuba, I was planning on bringing some Havana Club home. The store clerk suggested Black Tears instead and I’m glad she did. Not only was it cheaper but it was smooth. A great sipping rum. Would definitely buy again.

Fantastic Cuban rum.
I tried this at a rum tasting event over zoom and it was incredible.
This history of this rum is fascinating and very complex .
Tasting notes had a dry start not tobacco, followed by chilli peppers and finishing with cacao ...

I think Foursquare is a nicer spiced rum if you prefer sweeter but for dry lovers out there , this is the stuff

Within the Spiced Rum category, there aren't many that can touch this (especially at the price).
Showing good restraint on the sugar content (there are non-spiced rums with more added sugar than this), perhaps a touch heavy on the coffee and cacao, and could have upped the pepper a touch. Good oaky vanilla profile (rather than infused vanilla).
It's not winning any awards as a straight rum, but within the Spiced category it's damn near the best you can get.

Ron especiado muy elegante y bien equilibrado. El sabor agridulce es lo que le diferencia de la mayoría de rones con especias, así como su bajo contenido de azúcar, que es típico del ron cubano. Está condimentado con café, cacao, y con el ají dulce.
Es brillante y claro. Tiene una suave dulzura de cacao al que acompaña el golpe de café al final.

Edited my review and upgraded this to an 8. This stuff throws Captain Morgan and Sailor Jerry overboard! THIS IS NOT sweet , chemically spiced, over produced, loser monkey, bad college frat party, mixer only PSEUDO rum! Yes dry, yes it has some bite. In other words it has a little soul. Nice smoke and coffee notes. I sipped it straight with pleasure. Walk the plank Jerry and Captain Morgan. I hope the Kraken gets you! This rum blows that over produced squid away too.

Sipped on the rocks with a squeeze of lime to balance the cocoa/vanilla notes it's truly amazing!

This one i was recommended by a seller in a wine store as a better rum than Contrabanda Aged (not bad too). And it really is. Nice smooth taste for separate drinking good flavor of pepper and coffe. I liked. I think that for it`s price it`s a good bargain.

Keiner den man pur trinkt, mit Cola gibt es eine doch sehr leckere Kaffe-Schoko-Cola! Also zum mit schon ganz gut!

Helle goldene Erscheinung. Sehr angenehmer Geruch nach Kaffee/Karamell. Im Geschmack süßlich und mit leichter Schärfe im Abgang. Insgesamt gut pur zu trinken.
