Now this is some good stuff
Shows what the distillery's own bottlings sadly do not show: The true nature of Barbancourt. It has that "agricolish" vegetal side, and a lot more flavour than the mainstream bottlings show.
With a light gold color, this older one-year version provide the same typical Jamaican notes that disappear to leave space to some very strong vegetal notes of banana leaves or hay. It sounds like a sugar cane smell rotting on the floor. After a good ventilation, exotic fruits are coming. On the palate, it's very sweet more complex with dried fruits such as almonds, nuts. Very pastry aroma with a smoky finish or toast. Very long finish. More structured than the 10 Year and complex.
