Plantation Original Dark Double Aged Trinidad & Jamaica

After tasting and really enjoying the Barbados 5 Year rum, I found a bottle of the Original Dark and tried it. I always enjoyed the sweet rums with lots of flavor such as vanilla and camel and this surely has it. It's my new go-to for my Mai tai's. Next will be a Dark N Stormy. Great price. I really enjoy these Plantation rums.

Great proposal if you like dark rums having them straight and while being on a budget i.e. grabbing a drink at home on a Tuesday night. Descent, better than the popular darks

So this bottle is the perfect mixer. It tastes quintessentially like rum - dark toffee molasses notes and oak. This means it will be just what the doctor ordered in any cocktail calling for an aged rum. It's not overly complex on the palate, but it makes up for this with its low price, making it ideal for mixing. No more wasting expensive rum in your drinks - this will do the job just as well at a way lower price!

Voilà un rhum riche, chaud et délicieux pour reprendre les termes mentionnés sur l’étiquette de la bouteille. Distillé à la Barbade et en Jamaïque et ensuite vieilli dans des fûts de bourbon, le processus se termine en France avec un vieillissement dans des fûts de cognac. Un équilibre parfait en bouche, il goutte la vanille, l’ananas, le chocolat et même les arachides grillés. La robe dorée est sublime ! Le liquide est presque onctueux et la finale, bien persistante. Le rapport qualité prix est simplement imbattable. Je ne comprends pas d’ailleurs pourquoi le prix est aussi bas, vu la qualité du produit ?? Assis devant un feu de foyer en soirée, ce rhum saura réchauffer tout votre être 😉 ! Hogo garanti ! Enjoy !

Description-fruity smell. A little paint stripper ish smell but underlying beauty and smooth. Not too flavourful neat. Really flat and bitter. The flavour isn’t there. It needs something much better with it to complete it and give it that extra opmh. Drinking by itself it’s a no. Even with full fat coke it’s a no.

This is a great buy: affordable (but not cheap) and tasty. Bit exactly a great sipper, very aromatic. To me (not exactly an experienced drinker) it hints most strongly towards raisins.

I wasn't expecting much but was very surprised, lovely full flavour. Either mixed or sipped this is a very nice rum

This one was a gift from a friend and it does not disappoint. It is average a sipping rum but will be a staple as a mixer in my cabinet. This is one I can feel confident will deliver great rum taste when mixing for friends or myself.
