Enjoyed a bottle of Pichincha 14y in the middle of the Finnish wilderness. Nice and unique bottle and label design. Golden color. Strong oak and surprisingly plenty of sugarcane juice to the nose and palate when neat sipped. Dry and short burn at the end.
Smell is very light tobbaco, strong oak, mollase. Rather sweet taste with chocolate/coffee, apricot. I Tasted bit acidity plus I'm not fan of rums with coffee notes, so this is not rum for me.
I kinda liked this one, just maybe the woody/cask aroma was too strong in my opinion. The taste is sweet with bitter tones, this contrast I generally like.
Si vous aimez le style torréfié et brulé dans certains rhums, celui ci est très intense sur ces notes et la finition en fut de pedro Ximenez equilibre parfaitement le tout. Une très belle découverte.
