I was nervous when I smelled this bottle after opening it. The first straight shot was different. The taste and smell is far different from a standard rum. It grew on me and I downed half the bottle one night. No ill effects the next day all natural for sure. A great choice for straight up shots and can be mixed with very little for a fantastic drink. If you want to try something different go for this!

Tasted at Laka Lono on 4/9/19. Crystal clear. So much cooked sugar. Perhaps this might be corn in fact! Harsh. A chainsaw. If there is any cognac barrel aging in this, it escapes me. I love cachaca and this is likely my least favorite.

I love to drink Caipirinha in special versions. This Leblon tasts perfect in a Caipi with pinapple and mint. Also in a Caipi with several berrys (strawberry, raspberry, blackberry). It intensify the fruity taste without bringing the alcoholic taste in front. In Germany good availability for good price about 20 Euro. Drink it neat is not my thing. But why should I do that, when it's perfect in a Caipi :-)

Its not quite nova fogo, but if you're making caiparinhas then you don't need to look any further. This is a good one.

Poor thing seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis. There is more to it than other cachacas, but it has no direction or style. Just more funk, more vegetalness, and more stuff that's not quite right... Sipping it doesn't work, and when it comes to cocktails, there are other equally accessible cachacas that are just as good (or better) for a fraction of the cost. I don't see myself reaching for this one again.

I am not a fan of Cachaça, although in a Brazilian cocktail, it's fine. I tried another Cachaça and thought it to be awful. Then, I tried this and although it didn't blow my skirt up and make me a Cachaça fan for life, I could at least stand it and appreciate it for what it was. In case you're wondering, Cachaça is basically unaged Brazilian Light Rum. It's flavor is usually quite bad (dry with a rubbing alcohol vibe) but in this case, it's tolerable. I wouldn't necessarily call it good but it's the best Cachaça I have had and thankfully, the one that my local Brazilian restaurants use.

This is a little different, with a bit of a citrus flavor and a taste of grain.

I think it's pretty nice. Strong banana funk flavor.

I recommend this to people who want a cheaper price point for trying cachaca, and provide other recs if they like this.

Packaging and nose are promising of the exotic - fruity, vegetal aromas and a shocking green, too tall for your bar bottle set the table. On the palate, grassy, fruity, clear sugarcane with some spice on the back end. Short finish and in the end, not enough of anything after the nosing. Promising start...

Maybe cachaca as a whole isn't my jam, but it isn't the most complex thing I've tried. Good in Caipirinhas and alright neat.
