Lamb's Navy rum

Lamb's Navy

Canada | Dark | 40% ABV

Lamb’s Navy Rum is a blend of Caribbean rums that are aged four years in whiskey and bourbon barrels.

The original Lamb's Navy rum recipe, created by Alfred Lamb, blended 18 different rums sourced from Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados and Guyana. Lamb began blending the rums in England in 1859 and references the British Royal Navy in its name.

I drank this many years ago, it was okay in a pinch.

This is a quintessential Canadian liquor product somewhat like the Canadian wines of yesteryear. Just truly bad not worth drinking if someone gave you a bottle.

Not much for body in this one, I'll drink it if it's given to me lol

Meer van verwacht, puur een okΓ© rummetje, molasses en wat hout, maar zeer geschikt voor in een baco.

All to be expected from a large scale dark navy rum but certainly not the worst.

Nice initial flavour but the toasted caramel is just a bit too bitter for the end note.

Best saved for mixing or a cold long night at sea.

Compared to the real navy rum, this seemed like water. A pale shadow of by-gone days. I suspect the recipe has changed in recent years.

This is an OK rum that has stood the test of time. Not my favourite, but a good chaser after a cider or four.
Probably best enjoyed with a coke/Pepsi, I'd rather not spoil any drink like a rum or whisky with a coke.

I have had a tot or two of this drink every year on my birthday since I was 16 thanks to my ex RN father. I have grown to appreciate the flavour but still find it a little too harsh for it to be classed as a rum I'd drink by choice. The smell is far nicer than the taste which often reminds me of burnt hair. A great drink to mix with Shrub in true Cornish style.

Feels a little watered down and wouldn't particularly choose this if I had the choice

One of those rums that stays at the back of your drinks cabinet for years without being consumed. Very good as an aditive ingredient to rum cakes. 😈
