Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

Got a dram of this in the advent calendar, a lovely drop to sip over ice
The Kraken Black ist eine aromatisierter Spirituose, die im Geschmack intensive Aromen von Schokolade und Karamell aufweist. In Kombination mit einem durchdringenden Melasse Geschmack aber die feinen Noten von Ingwer, Zimt und Vanille nicht überdeckt.
Great Tasty, strong but smooth. I usually mix with Coke.
A heavier rum, best as an after dinner sweet drink.

Benn drinking Rum for years and finallyn found Kraken ill drink nothing else fine taste and being 40% a bit more kick.

It's fairly smooth for being a spiced rum. A little sweeter and tastier than Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry and higher proofed than both. I left my spiced rum phase a while ago but I would still drink this at a party no problem.

Picked this one up based on a friend's suggestion. Vanilla nose that gets better when I tasted it. The spices come forward but it doesn't completely overpower the Vanilla. Works well in mixed drinks too.

When you’re looking to add some flare to your bar cabinet for friends to enjoy this should do the trick. It’s a nice break from your typical party mixing rums, and at 47%, the Kraken does pack a punch. However, I would class this as more of a dark rum, then spiced. I don’t quite get all the flavor profile the label speaks of... but the few that I do, mix well with cola - not a sipping rum.
