Kraken Black Spiced

As rums go this is one of my favourites for casual drinking

Packs a punch and will certainly mix nicely but a bit too dark to be a favourite

One of my main mixers. If Myers is not around, this’ll do.

But not only the name, very reasonable price and of course the taste.

The bar i got that at, served it to me in the wrong glass, with too much ice and melting ice, at that. It came to me in a sorry state. Still though, its taste was too sweet for my liking, felt like gasoline, too weak to spark my interest and if i could, i would certainly throw it down on the floor and spit over it. It is for wretched things like this one right here, that Spiced Rums get a bad reputation for...

Update: I got a bottle recently, just in case it was better than the terribly served drink i had outside. Just as bad, if not worse! Worst 28 bucks i will have ever spent, throughout my rum explorations!

Pretty terrible on its own, like most spiced rums or cheap stuff, but for whatever reason, Kraken really agrees with me as my rum&coke mixer, add a lime wedge and enjoy. I initially bought it because the bottle looked cool, but now I’ve gone through easily 25 bottles per year over the last three years!

Rhum épicé très accessible en gout pour un néophyte. Un gout de Caramel très facile pour une approche du rhum en douceur.

Aromas of spices and chocolate, quite sweet in taste. Not a bad one

Far too much spice flavoring added for not much body. Not unpleasant and decent in some simple cocktails but never my first choice.

First you taste the caramel then comes the rest and alcohol , nice smooth full body taste for spiced . The more you drink the better ... First time i drink half bottle and it was perfect !!!
