Kraken Black Spiced

Chiamarlo rum mi riesce difficile.

Nice and dark with good spice, not too bitter, not too sweet (edit: not too sure about that, but it's not syrupy. sugar est 26gpL), not too alcoholic, and not too expensive. Good strength. A good-value spiced rum when nothing local is available.

Recommended for desserts, baking, and cocktails (in moderation).

As spiced rums go, it's probably a fair rum for the amount it costs. To me it has the distinct feeling of fast paced, industrial production without soul or any real hint of craftsmanship. It seems like a SodaStream pop in the way that it comes across to me. Perhaps like a vodka with lots of aromas/concentrates mixed in to create "something new". To me - they did. I'm not going back there...

as a mixed drink it taste okay. i have drink it with only ice before and boy is the spices overpowering. Fantastic price for a stronger rum. id drink it over captain morgan for mixers anyday. but i cant rate it higher since all its got going is mixing.

But not that great in its own. It is a staple for me in my cabinet for mixing.

I find this rum just a bit sweet and heavy but pretty smooth and very nice over ice. Very sippable. Seems to be getting popular...even seeing commercials on tv.

A very dark black rum. Nice colour. Spicy. I like it, but not too often.

A better spiced rum. Ok for mixing. Fine for clubbing.

I tried mixing this as first like I do with all my spirits and it was OK. But it's best on it's own, it's so full of flavour, and sweet, it's best enjoyed alone.
