Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

Very moreish rum with caramel taste. Neat on the rocks is way forward.

This one is smooth enough that it could be drank neat, but it definitely has a bite to it. Price point is low enough that I have no problem using it as a respectable mixer. Nice flavor overall. Not too sweet and a nice mix of spices.

I like this one with coke, 7up, Dr. Pepper, or any fruit juice. A great mixer. A step up from captain Morgan's.

A bit more than a well rum, just like Captain. I've had it several times it's not my favorite but it will do the trick.

Bon rhum épicé, on sent surtout la vanille. Idéal en tournées de shot au comptoir ou encore en cocktails à l'apéro !

Not a bad rum, but too dark for me. Even overpowering in mixed drinks.

Wanted to pick up a spiced rum and bought a bottle of Kraken after reading posted reviews. Tried it straight, on the rocks, and with Mexican Coca Cola. Have to say I liked it all 3 ways. Had a nice Black Licorice taste.
