Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

This is my go to rum as a marker for anyone I come to know who wants to try rum. I've found that out of the most accessible rums (in England) it is my most consistently bough bottle.

Better than most of the popular spiced rums but not the best I have tried.
Tried it in a dark and stormy cocktail, not bad al together as I'm not a big fan of spiced rum!

Ce rhum est correct il se rapproche d un mix entre un diplomatico reserve exclusive mais plus sur le caramel et moins bon.ce rhum epicée se rapproche d un morgan spiced black mais meilleur.
Bon pour les melanges mais seul il a un cote un ecoeurant.certains aimeront le coté epicé et sucre.Mais en degustation pas top.note 6.2.
Its a bit overpriced here in romania and for that price u just get an ok mixing rum. I would give it a 3 but I like it very much with coke vanilla.
On le préféra dans un cocktail qu'en simple dégustation, Mais s'il peut faire son effet. Bien construit pour les plates novices

The strength of these mythical Giants is tremendous...a.k.a giant squid. The strength of the Kraken rum is a strong rum hence the name. It has heat and burn, but has a nice taste as well. 11 secret spices to encompass the rum and form some complexity and taste. No keen on sipping it...it's all right, but makes better mixed drinks.

Sampled Kraken Black Spice Rum and found it very very sweet. This might be good as a mixer but definitely not as a sipper but, to each its own. For some it may very well be worth a 9 rating, to me it's a 4.

Il est facile à boire à tel point qu on le croirait coupé à l eau.
Néanmoins je pense qu il peut être sympa dans certains cocktails.
Easy to drink after the first few shots/mixed drinks. After that it gets better to drink and it becomes easier to pick out the flavors/spices.

I'm guessing that they start with cheap, bulk rum and then add Worcestershire sauce or something, plus a ton of hair dye for color. This is not a delicious product. Their marketing department should get the credit for this rum's success, but it could just as easily be vodka.
