Kraken Black Spiced

Kraken is one of those rums which you should at least try without any additional ingredients. It has very strong taste almost with a little hint of coffee and caramel, not too much though. Dark colour within simple-shaped bottle with two handles gives it dangerous appearance which label with kraken only strengthens it.
Little pricey but worth trying out.

Dark color and flavor, adds some variety to your mixer rums IE Bacardi Gold or Captain Morgan spice. Bottle adds an old world explorer look.

Release the Kraken! Have it chilled or over some ice and it gets the job done. Its not a top quality rum but i like it better than Captain Morgan Spiced and some other spiced rums. 👍 for the Kraken.

I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a liquor officianado. However, I do enjoy stouts, mixed drink and rum in particular. My son, (now 25), brought a bottle of The Kraken to a birthday party recently and encouraged me to give it a try. My biggest complaint about most rums, is the burn that seems to steal the flavor away. This was not the case with Kraken Black Spiced rum! It definitely has a bite, but it's more of a Vampire bite - intense, but smooth at the same time. The flavor is rich and full of earthy notes, with a hidden sweetness on the back of the pallet. I really enjoyed it. An excellent sipping rum, or a nice addition to a mixed drink. A very respectable drink.

Harsh tasting. This falls well short of even the cheap rums I avoid unless I can't find a decent rum.

This is a great 'starter' spiced rum as it's not too heavily spiced (think subtle vanilla and mixed spice).

It's one that I've found myself coming back to time and time again - not least for it's value for money. For the price, you can't knock it - a great rum for very little outlay (usually around £20) an ideal staple to have in your drinks cabinet , with a good strong measure it makes an ideal mixer, and one that you can stick to all night.

Sure its the best as far as spiced rum is concerned but it is more than agreeable.

Plus you can get this ceramic bottle which looks awesome in your cabinet. 7/10

This very dark rum is widely distributed (in the Midwest at least), but I’ve never had the opportunity to try it. Given the pretty fair rating it had on this app I decided to pull the trigger. I kracked (see what I did there?) the bottle and took a swig. Mmmm, smooth, not bitter, strong manly flavor, not overpowering on the spice, very tasty from start to finish. Mixed it with some Diet Coke with Lime and thoroughly enjoyed this high octane (94 proof) offering.

A surprisingly strong rum! Rich and almost cloyingly sweet in flavour, it would probably do better mixed with a soft drink. I'm a fan of the piratey aesthetic and the cracking name (heh) more than anything.

This rum is full of flavour and really boosts your mixers with a rasiny/boozy flavour. It is still quite sweet and lovely to drink neat, too if you prefer. There are however far better rums for a similar price that would be better neat.
