I drink this Kings Bay Tropical Rum every day because it's that good. A 1/2 shot in a cup of coffee, 1 1/2 shot before dinner.with watered down fruit juice on the rocks. I thought it might be only 40 proof based on how smooth it feels, but no it's 80.I cant make it for $10 bucks. Stock up now before the word gets out.Great for people that cant drink grain alcohol.
Comparing price to drinkability this might actually be a 10. Mild flavor, great mixology, with good color. Pinch of spice and this would make my top 10 of favorite rums.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

For a Few Dollars More

For $6 at my local Albertsons, I got a plastic bottle of this brown Listerine, less because I couldn't afford a $10 Captain Morgan but because I simply wanted to try something new and there was not much selection. I should have gone with the captain. At this price point I expected it to be noxious, and while it is definitely not molasses, it at least is relatively smooth, despite almost exclusively tasting like alcohol. I think it achieves this paradox by simultaneously tasting very watered down. While I suppose I can faintly taste the "natural flavors" they added, I can not identify them, and they don't keep this from tasting like the bottle was rinsed during production with the cheap, cloying rum already inside it. It's not absolutely horrific, but there is little reason for this to exist. For a few dollars more, you can find something that at least is somewhat sippable and has a flavor other than stale booze, and I recommend that you do so.
