“...you’re just not drinking” was the phrase from Jamaica spring break a long time ago. But for now, middle of the pack.
Being one who prefers the full, smooth South American rums, the Diplomáticos, the Zacapas, The Santa Teresas, I am not enchanted by the rums of the English Islands. I expected more however of this one. Bit harsh to my taste and definitely not a sipper. Quite drinkable however with soda.
Appleton produces some higher rated rums, but this one left me wanting. The blend does lend to a unique flavor but misses the take.
When I lived in the caribbean I loved Appleton. I had graduated from navy rum to jamaican rum and I was 21. Nowadays I can’t stand it. 21 yr, 30 yr, Joy. Its all too dry with an odd taste. Obviously thd bottom barrel rum is worse. If I want dry I will go Agricole, or maybe an Ged Diplomatico. This is just not good
I received a bottle from my daughter who visited Jamaica. I think this might be a good rum for mixing, but I like mine straight, and this rum lacks the smoothness that my other favorites deliver.
Ots a resonable aged rum, with a short pasa In oak barrels, toó muchos alcohol smell and favor. Only forma mixing whit cola and juice fruits
Nothing special, good with coke. Bit harsh.

One of the most ancient distilleries of them all
"Appleton Estate V/X rum review by Steve Crotty via Rum & Reviews"
Gives a fairly pungent scent of molasses, black pepper and sweet alcohol.
"A touch of vanilla and ginger. There is still a hit of molasses on the nose and some spiced black pepper. The rum is quite delicate initially. It is a hot spicy rum."

No tiene definido un sabor, así como no tiene definido un tiempo de alejamiento, se me hizo un ron barato bastante caro.
