i don´t like Havana´s so much but this is something different. nice 45% vol
Woody tones, tabacco, cacao and coffee.
I drank this rum and smoking a cigar montecristo nice couple :)

I have never drunk a Cuban rum with wow effect. Thus one is in the same style, a good one, but simple. It doesn't offer anything special.

This is an excellent rum, great over the rocks. Not a speck of sweetness so if you are into the sweeter rum you need not apply. Nice nose, mouth and a slight burn on the finish. I wish I could find a bottle in the States.

This rum has 45% of alcohol and you will definitely feel the warmth in your throat. But the warmth comes easily and is not unpleasant but stronger than in other rums. You will feel the taste of wood very strongly and a little bit the taste of canned fruits. But in overall the taste is very stable and soft.
This rum smells very nicely and the smell is not too sharp which is an interesting attribute for 45% of alcohol.

Great full flavor, very smooth, just at right level of sweetness.

One of the best rums I taset yet. Beautiful immperial style bottle, tasty rum, clear flavour. Great for enjoying in the summer evening with cigar

Really, a job well done. Not my personal favorite though I would choose it anytime, anywhere. Well balanced, not as kicky as Especial which I love for it's sincere rum taste. This is a gentleman who just wants to say hello and leave good remarks. Nice one indeed.

I got this one as a present. It is my first more expensive Havana Club rum and I must say that I am quite surprised by it's complexity. Although it is strong, there is a lot more happening on your tongue than just alcohol punch. It keeps your mouth busy for quite a while and you should sit back and enjoy this. Wouldn't recommend it to everyone though.

Very nice rum, in true Cuban spirit, of course without added sugar.
You smell citrus, (maybe even pineapple?) and in mouth it is very smooth with a long lasting hot feel.
I think I taste some more citrus.
Comes in a nice packaging and at a good price. Plus you get to drink a Cuban rum and together with a Cuban cigar and you will feel like moved into a bar of Havana.

Last February (2016) we enjoyed our 3rd trip to Cuba, visiting a different area this time (Santa Maria/ Ensenachos). Havana club is a great mixing rum bar none. Seeking to find a higher quality sipper, most kept pushing me toward the Santiago de Cuba. I did try (and buy) but found it paled in comparison.
the HC Seleccion is one of the best examples of Cuban rum, at an outstanding price point. I did return home with a bottle in the sleeve (tip: best price was at the airport store), along with a S de C 12yr. I should have brought 2, as I'm now badgering friends who are travelling to Cuba to bring me another.
Easy to sip a few, perhaps not as smooth as others in the next price category, but none the less its' still an enjoyable spirit. Medium body with mild tobacco leaf and herbal notes, a little dark chocolate and hints of molasses.
