Havana Club Añejo Especial is a blend of rums aged for up to five years produced from the fermented molasses of sugar cane harvested in Cuba. The molasses is combined with yeast and water, distilled using column stills, and aged in white oak barrels.
Havana Club was founded in 1878 by Jose Arechabala and later nationalized after the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

Very sweet and not a lot of other nuances in the flavor. Vanilla aroma. Not tasty enough to be worth sipping but probably fine for cocktails.
Pleasant aged rum, sweet smell without alcohol. Good for cocktails, not a high price, beautiful bottle.
My first golden Rum (shows how much Rum experience I have!). I found this smooth, sweet and pleasant to sip (I only drink rum neat) I got this as part of a rum set with two other rums (5cl) Would I go out and specifically buy it - No, but if I saw it on special offer I'd probably buy it.
Not bad, I've had better but overall it's pretty decent. Not as smooth as I like, but still ejoyanle
On the nose Havana Especial Rum smells like a whiskey rum hybrid with faint notes of vanilla. Drank neat, I found this rum quite bland truth be told. For me, it doesn’t really taste of much, bar whiskey,(not a fan) with tepid vanilla in the after taste. But credit where credit is due, there is very little alcohol burn. Mixed with Coca-Cola this rum transforms into something completely different than when drank neat. The coke makes the whiskey taste almost disappear and the vanilla more stand out. In fact, the vanilla taste is so unmistakable when the fizzy dark stuff is added, that it ends up tasting a wee bit like Admiral’s Old J Spiced, but not quite as vanillary as that rum.
Kifinomult lágy , hagyományos ízvilág, minimális illat, gyors lecsengés, de az összkép jó.

Some oaky spicy notes.
"It’s very heavy with vanilla and the caramel and brown sugar notes are too much. The rum is quite smooth and not very rough."

Very nice rum to make some good rum cocktails. Because of it smoothness and sweetness you can sip it as well.
