Havana Club Añejo Especial is a blend of rums aged for up to five years produced from the fermented molasses of sugar cane harvested in Cuba. The molasses is combined with yeast and water, distilled using column stills, and aged in white oak barrels.

Havana Club was founded in 1878 by Jose Arechabala and later nationalized after the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

A very basic rum to have with coke and lime. I wouldn't have it on its own.

if you look for a cheap daily sipper,7Yo Cubans are a good start. In my opinion the 7Yo is a better choice

For me on similar level like Captain Morgan Spiced, but not so much flavoured. Good for mixed drinks like Cuba Libre.

Vind hem persoonlijk niet geschikt om puur te drinken een iets te sterke nasmaak die blijft hangen. Maar gemengd met cola is die zeker niet verkeerd.

Too sweet for my taste, no real depth of favours, just a generic rum taste. Nothing offensive about it, but nothing overly exciting either.

Inside the attractive bottle and label lies a rum that, To my taste, qualifies as a "well drink." A rather timid bouquet leads to an underwhelming palate dominated by the flavor of molasses. The finish is brief and raspy. I found it best as a base for a caipirissima, the rum version of a capirinha. The lime juice and oil blend well with this rum. In sum, ok as a bar bottle but there are better, more balanced and well-rounded choices out there.

Se volete bere un rum discreto senza impegno, va bene... ma non oltre

This rum is ideal for Cuba Libre. It develops lots of rum taste but leaves room for Coke and lime. The price is a little bit high but if you get it cheap, don't hesitate.
