Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Etwas würziger als der jüngere Bruder! Macht sich sehr gut im Cuba Libre!
I have two favorite Rums for everything, mixed with coke or in drinks or enjoyed Straight-up. Havana 7 is probably the number 1 out of these two. Well balanced and full of flavours
Den er rigtig god til cola, bedre end Captain Morgan
I'm not sure why, but this was my favourite rum for a LONG time. Loved the smokey and smooth flavour of this particular brand. It may not be for everyone, but I certainly enjoyed it mixed in a cold glass of cola. There are better tasting rums out there, but for the price, you can't go wrong here!
Some sweetness but with a sharp alcohol finish. Rather fresh taste, with some oak/smoke, but lacking complexity.
When people come into drinking various rums, it becomes difficult to know how to compare 'quality'. HC7 is one of the few affordable rums you will find in the supermarket that actually deserves the title 'premium'.
In regards to flavour some may say it isn't 'complex', in some regards, they may be right. It is very smooth, and the flavours are delicate when drunk straight or on the rocks. Mix with cola you get rewarded with a smooth caramel rum drink. There are subtle notes of treacle, toffee, vanilla, tobacco and smokey oak, but is so smooth and blended well. Some may over look its true complexity, but that doesn't undermine the fact that this is one top quality rum.
im not a cuban rum fan, havana 7 year is ok when mixed with coke, lime and sours........
While not a big fan of whisk(e)y and favouring a rum-cola over other kinds of mixes, the logical next step was to explore rums to enjoy neat. First stop: Havana Club 7 anos.
I'm no expert on palates and stuff, but compared to other rums (mostly used in mixes though) this Havana Club 7 Anos it brings less sweetness and way more flavour and a nice warmth. Personally, I'd rather enjoy it neat, as mixing it with cola seems like a bit of a waste of such a tasty rum. Apparently my wife and friends also seem to like it, as I quickly found myself in need for a 2nd bottle after the holidays.
Since this is my first neat rum I'll rate it with a 7 for now, maybe it will increase over time after trying other sipping rums.
I like this one when going clubbing.
Better then bacardi and any other cheap white rhum.Cheap buyable.
Any friend i know has it at home.
Again with cola
When people talk about Cuban rums, Havana club is usually the name most brought up..pretty smooth and mixes good with anything.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

'caramel, cane sugar, and a bit of cinnamon character in the finish'

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This was my introduction to sipping rum. It is a solid starter but doesn't hold up to others in my collection anymore. A good value for sure.
