Cuba | Aged | 40% ABV

Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.

Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

I had to wait for some business travel to Spain when I was able to pick this up in duty free.

I have really enjoyed this bottle. Smooth, sweet but balanced. I have enjoyed it on the rocks, straight, and in cocktails. I think it's a winner all around, but I hesitate to recommend it to my friends in the US as it so hard to come by.

I personally am not sure how to drink it. Pure it's not really good tasting. To harsh and overpowering spiced. Mixed with coke i think the anejo especial is better tasting. The spicing overpowerd even the coke

This is the rum that the average-guy has the box and/or empty bottle on the shelf.
In Italy "Coca e Havana" (which is only with Havana7) is something like a recognized upgrade to a standard Cuba Libre (that should be made with white rum and lime juice, but don't investigate too much).
Widely available in every supermarket, i believe this is a good choice, i find it a nice on the rocks rum, good for an Old Fashioned twist and acceptable neat.
Don't be too hipster, this is a great classic that shoud stay in every liquor cabinet, unless you upgrade it with better similar (but less iconic) rums.

Havana club is a great affordable rum from Cuba. I enjoy it with cola.

Absolutely fantastic rum. I first tried it about 2 weeks ago and I've been hooked ever since. I can't wait to pair this with some cigars that I have resting in my humidor.

Love this mixed with coke, but can also be sipped even if not as smooth as others. Some great depth of flavour even when mixed with great caramel flavours coming out. A classic really.

I bought this passing through the Dubai Airport Duty Free, mainly because you couldn't get it in the US at the time. Wish I could remember more about it, but since I don't remember much, that means it must have been pretty good! I remember all the horrible rums I've drank, oddly enough. But the best? I couldn't even tell you. I do recall I liked it, and would probably buy it again if I came across it.
