Cuba | Aged | 40% ABV

Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.

Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Ce rhum manque de tonus; le qualificatif de "mou" me vient en tête. Comme s'il avait vieilli en ayant trop chaud et trop humide (c'est une impression...). Pas mon genre de rhum.

No structure, too soft and a "humid" feel. Not my kind.

I have had a curiosity as an American (Puerto Rican) rum lover for Havana Club. Taste wise (stand alone), this one was a bit of a downer, but mixed with Coke was actually great drink.

The rum is good enough to have me interested in getting the 15 year and Maestros version of it...if anything this covers my feelings...good enough to enjoy mixed and keep me open minded about the older ones.

not to drink pure, but one of the best to mix with Coke.

I tasted it in comparison with the quorhum 30 which is very good in my opinion, just to try out some cheaper sipping rum. Both are 40%, but the alcohol burn is far more present in the havana 7 probably because oder its younger age. Its also less sweet, it has has some similliar flavors on the palate like the quorhum but less complexity. The quorhum was far better for my taste for sipping but that is what anyone would expect.

I could play hopscotch with the chalk I taste when I drink this but since it's not a fruit flavoured rum it can't be lower than a 5.

Me lo regaló un primo mio y pude tomarme un par de cubatas antes de que la botella desapareciera, estaba bueno, supongo.

I was introduced to aged rums while in Havana and this and the Santiago De Cuba 12 were the local reco's. This doesn't even come close to the sweetness and depth of the 12 year Santiago de Cuba, although I will say that when paired with a nice Cuban cigar it's quite palatable.

Consistently consistent... good flavours, not too sharp

Probably Cubas most famous aged rum and the benchmark for many. Round and smooth. I still use it for long drinks only.

For some reason I can only drink it neat. Don't like the taste at all in a drink. Would not recomend this one. Well maybe once...because its a classic....but thats it....

I still think this makes one of the best cuba libre around.
