Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

One of the better aged rums that I've tasted. Very affordable too.
I don't think this an easy drinkable rum on rocks or even pure, but it represents a great alternative to the 3 years old havana when making long drinks.
The burn of oak or alcohol are scarcely present (if at all, to an experienced tongue). Leather, coffee, and faint baked banana bread make up the bulk of the nose and flavour profile for this rum.
Its lack of strong figure make it sink to the background of cocktails, but the enjoyable taste of coffee and banana make it a casual sipper that I enjoy with my less rum-savvy friends quite often.
Legendary rum Cuban rum, cocoa, vanilla, cedar, sweet tobacco good for that money.
Rhum facile à boire, surtout en cocktail car peu expressif.
I can tell it’s nice stuff, but I’m just not a huge fan of the molasses flavour.
I first tried Havana Club 7 when someone left a bottle at my place last year. He lives in Calgary (I'm in Ontario) so I assumed he wasn't coming back for it. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. HC7 didn't blow me away, but it works well neat or on the rocks, as well as in a rum Old Fashioned or a rum Manhattan. There are some nice leather aromas, some molasses, dark roast coffee, brown sugar sweetness, and a touch of vanilla and bananas. Interesting enough to sip on its own and affordable enough to offer to your friends and relatives who will drown it in Coca-Cola.
This is the best rum pubs in the UK have to offer. The narrow dark brown bottle fits well on the shelf. The rum is a dark brown with a scent of banana and pineapple. A little bit of fire in the mouth and a short to medium after taste. God for mixing. Not bad for sipping if there is no alternative.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."

Not bad, but nothing special about it either. A bit spicy.
