This might be okay in a mixed drink but I wouldn't drink it neat. There are better rums out there.
this is a pretty decent mixing rum, better than bacardi
So there you are in the liquor store, staring at the rows of rum and wondering which one will be unnecessarily added to your bourgeoning bar. You have more bottles than your favourite boozer but It’s an itch to be scratched and it’s not worth kidding yourself.
So if you are looking for light then you can do much worse than this.
It’s the full 80 proof which is nice and it works in what ever drink you choose. I like it with lime and sugar.
Slightly thicker mouthfeel than some and a fullness of flavour that is missing from some other light rums.
Time for Birka’s rumcruise 2019 at the Baltic Sea. Bought me mojito now and then just to get a break from all the zipping. They used the Havana Club 3yo and the drink was very refreshing.
add Ice, Cola, Lime and you can drink, in hot summer nights
With a slightly golden tint this white rum is fruity on the nose and on the palate. It starts off smooth but as it goes down, there is some slight burn. You can't really expect much complexity because it's a white rum. But I've made a few daiquiris with it and I have to say it is the best white rum I've had. It's not just a hit of ethanol. There is actually some fruity tones. A lot better than other white rum I've had. This Cuban rum is perfect for cocktails.
Best one for coctails for this price.

When you order mojito in Cuba, this is what you get in your cocktail.
There’s a reason this rum is used in La Bodeguita and El Floridita in Havana. It makes pretty good cocktails. I don’t recommend this one straight or on the rocks. And: value for money.
Sharing the distinctive Havana Club flavor, when it comes down to the price, this is the best cocktail rum, you can get. I have always enjoyed it, and if you're planning on getting into rums, this is a great one to start with.
Pleasant rum. Full mouth. Nice aromas. Fruits, honey. Perfect for cocktails
Been enjoying this one since the days in The Fish in Cheltenham back in 1999
A major characteristic of Cuban rums is that fiery alcoholic burn upfront and after, but there are a few pleasant tasting notes: A little bit of that saccharine demerara sugar, esters briefly evoking dried tropical fruits and a vanilla aftertaste. This is not a first choice sipper, but fine as a shooter, and apropos of cocktails, the daiquiri and mojito will surely improve in flavor toward their intended form.
I prefer to mix it with Cola, ice, slice of lime and a few drops of vanilla extract.
I like the taste and effect. No bad hangover from this one. It's readily available everywhere in Germany. Quite regularly for 10 Euros a bottle.
This rum ultimately meets all of its expectations and has more of a distinct taste than many rums in its class. It is more fruity and functional than many other whites out there. It serves as a well mixer and provides the Cuban taste called for in many great drinks. Cost and function are strengths.
Actually Quite useable in mixing. After some drinking it develops a sour burn in throat, so be careful. Nothing remarkable, but a completely ok rum for serving your guests. To be avoided straight.
Kostovka priamo z cuby. Jemne nasladla zaujimava chuť.
Harsh, sharp, chemical-ey & unpleasant. I've been working my way up from the cheapest that's available locally (semi-rural Tasmania, so not much) and this was one of the cheapest (around A$50). Yucky.
Because of its mild Taste, great for mixing. Sweet , so don't put together much sugar in it.
this one is ok for drinks. I would not drink it otherwise.
I’m no authority when it comes to white rum but this stuff is good. The only other white rum I’ve had is Bacardi silver and this blows that out of the water. Good on it’s own, but shines as a mixer. I’ve mainly used it in piña coladas so if you make those buy this. For a white rum it’s definitely up there.
Tasty rum, best served on the rocks or in a beautiful Cuban cocktail. One of the best light rums, but I prefer a more aged rum
Festive season give you an excuse to try different runs, yay! Some sadly are not really worth the effort.
