HC Añejo 3 años has typical for HC sugarcane taste anx smell, that makes it a great cheap white rum. Bacardy blanco is not even hal tjat good.
Great to mix or good enaugh to sipp pure !

This rum is suited to any white rum based cocktail. I swear by Havana club and you can't beat a classic daiquiri with this one!

Perfect product for cocktails. Clean and round taste, little vanilla and citrus.

Early 2000 Havana Club was introduced in Belgium and became quickly my favourite rum to mix with cola.

To be honest I've put it aside the last years to discover other rums, but it's always nice to come back to this solid reference as a mixing rum!

Cheers!

Smells mostly of sugarcane, with a little citrus and spice. The taste follows the nose. A fairly ordinary rum.

Tastes ok I guess.
Smells nice and sweet, but burns when it goes down.
Absolutely great with coke though, or just a splash of water helps to bring out the flavour and negate the burning a bit.

Very good to mix in a coke but not to drink straight. Its more of a "finer" bar rum. I has a better taste than captain morgan gold spiced.

As far as mass-produced white aged rums go, there aren't many that can beat Havana 3.
Good brown sugar, pineapple skin, hints of ginger, and a great oiliness that comes from not overly filtering this aged rum. The appearance is mild yellow, rather than crystal clear spirit that comes from heavily filtering aged rum to strip it of all flavour and sell it to vodka drinkers.

If you can only buy from one of the big brands, this is the best choice for white rums by far.

1. owner (2022): originally produced in Cárdenas, Cuba, by family-owned José Arechabala S.A., the brand was nationalized after the Cuban Revolution of 1959. In 1993, French-owned Pernod Ricard and the government of Cuba created a state-run 50:50 joint venture called Corporación Cuba Ron (havana club, santiago de cuba, rum cubay, sao can, perla del norte rum).
2. distillery (2022) and bottled: two Cuban distilleries - at the Rum Factory of Santa Cruz del Norte (east of Havana) and at San Jose (south-east of Havana)

this ron is only for cocktails. it was ok in cuba libre, rum cola, but nothing special, especially for such price. for this money, you can always find better options for cocktails. won't buy it again also because of Cuba, which has been supporting russia in its aggression against Ukraine since 2014.
