First time I had this in a French ski resort it blew my mind, I have since tried many rums far more superior and it's £150 price tag doesn't match it's liquid. The rum has a great initial punch of flavor, a little spice however isn't very rich in molasses and it's not as complex as other £100+ bottles. Spend your cash elsewhere unless you already have a diplo 2000 an el d 21 and a zacapa XO

This is solid cuban rum.
Aged with strong body.
But I think price is overrated

I've always liked the 3 yo HC and it's typical flavor profile. Comparing it directly to the SDM and the tributo 2021, the tributo was better - more refined, balanced etc. - the SDM's flavor profile is similar to that of tributo at less that an 10th of the price. This 15 yo is also nice but with very different flavors compared to the other two at 140 euros. So, SDM is definitely my winner.

A colleague bought me a glass of Havana Club 15 year (over a single rock) while in the United Kingdom for work. My first glass of a true rum (versus the standard Bacardi and Coke at a bar or party).

I was never one to drink any liquor straight and I was skeptical of drinking it but I grew to enjoy it more and more after each sip. While it was a hand full of years ago I do recall its smoothness and lack of expected afterburn (even though there was some burn). I really enjoyed it.

There's not much more to say other than it led me into the world of rum. My first time as they say. We cannot purchase it here in the States but I would certainly like to come across it in my travels again some day. See if it was as enjoyable as the first time.

You definitely taste the wood, but also chocolate and fruit. Not a great value proposition (you're paying for all the Angel's Share) but you won't regret it if you like something reminiscent of whiskey.

Best Havana I’ve tried. Smooth, warm and inviting. It certainly delivers but at £11 a go it needs to.

Fine rum with a hard character. Slightly sharp at the beginning, it develops its flavors well afterwards. Exceptional rum for cigars.

At Rum Point in the Cayman Islands in 2018. Was very good, aged well. Vanilla, stone fruit, and molasses flavors. To the restaurants credit, they made sure I understood what I was ordering at least three times.

I got this in a little bottle with a cohiba from someone who just came from Cuba.
Good enough for a straight but works better with coke.
Nice heart, lovely color , a bit of sweetness, nothing too fancy.

The 15 year old rum from Habana Club is a great rum, however with a price the is almost almost 4 times higher than the Selección de Maestros, I certainly prefer that one.

Here, things started getting interesting. I got this on a special occasion, as a gift to myself. My very first experience with aged rums. Noticable oak, satisfying bite, rich taste, long aftertaste and depth. Quite adorable. Truth is, it still could do much better. Overpriced, in my books.
