Bought an avec of this after enjoying a Swedish Christmas buffet at one of Stockholm's better restaurants.
Karukera is the Carib’s name on Guadeloupe.
The brand was founded 2002 when Guillaume Drouin teamed up with Francois Longueteau at the Esperance/Longueteau Distillery to create an Agricole made from blue cane.
So the blue cane juice is distilled in a column still at the Esperance distillery in Sainte-Marie whereafter it’s aged seven years in ex-cognac casks and bottled in 4997 bottles 2016 at 45%.
It’s nice, smooth and subtle all the way from nose to the medium long finish.
It’s quite complex with lots of flavors. I detected lots of different fruits and species but also vanilla and some oak.

Hodně příjemné agricole, jemné, ovocné, typická štiplavost u agricole potlačena, hodně mne bavila

for a 7 years aged agricole rum i expected much more, it s sharp, dry,
don t develop flavours like i expected, and finally it s very expensive !
don t get the oak, smoke and fruity that other guys wrote here ...

Tak toto je jedna z mojich najobľúbenejších Karuker. Úžasná vôňa, chuť sudu, ovocia , jemná zadymenost, ktorá má neskutočne baví. Tabak, čokoláda a jemne karamel. Skvelý agricole

This Karukera Millésime 2009 has been aged during 7 years in
Cognac barrels which provided it a nice nose with a light cane aroma, vanilla with some woodied touchees
On the palate, the cane is more present with the discovery of spiced aromas like pepper and cinnamon.

I was delighted by the Full proof 2008 I have tasted 2 weeks ago and I have to admit
that I was expecting more of this 2009 select casks.

A beautiful gold color with gray green reflections for this Guadeloupe rum which is an blend of several rum harvested in 2009. Only from blue cane. On the nose is the sugar cane, with notes of dried fruit and candied fruit. There will be over time a succession of aromatic palette that suggests a certain complexity but which in mouth with its woody and vanilla side brings us on a hot and spicy end with pepper and cinnamon. Complexity I said, not sure, the end is flat and not very original. I'm a Karukera fan but I'm disappointed. A blend not very interesting.
