The taste is quite good and not hand over in next day.
The unique Yamane wood taste and a little smoky taste is really nicest.
Best to taste with BBQ.
A unique rum for any collection, from Myanmar. Unfortunately, extremely harsh with a petroleum after taste. Tough to finish.
The rum is smooth and not to sweet indeed, with a nice nose too, but the after taste of petroleum is awful..
I hope while opening up those mervelous country they will keep on working on new rums, this is a good start for a South East Asian rum.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Wonderful discovery here from the South-East Asian land of Myanmar (also known as Burma), where rum is a traditional drink of the Burmese worker. Mandalay Rum dates back to 1886, and in its regular inexpensive local dark rum offering in a red-labelled bottle from the Mandalay Distillery, is surprisingly smooth & perfect to sip all by itself, pleasingly sweet but not overly so, with a lovely balance & without harshness. Mandalay Rum from rapidly-rising ASEAN nation Myanmar, is currently exported within Asia, but may soon be seen & enjoyed more in the wider world, as it certainly deserves to be.
