Beautiful amber colour with copper reflections. On the nose they are the markers of varnish typical of Jamaica. Vegetal and medicinal aromas with exotic fruits and vanilla. In mouth, pastry notes with nuts, almond, walnut, marzipan. The alcohol is very discreet and does not attack the palate too much. Moderately long with a woody finish. Beautiful rum
Over 600 aged rums tasted and my expectations on the Samaroli family of rums was very high. They have garnered a lot of attention on the rum forums, but what a disappointment. I had a glass of Fiji 2001 and 1998 Barbados back-to-back and both had very strong alcohol smell and taste to it. Both very very floral on the palate and both had a very strong burn at the end. What an over hyped and over priced disappointment Samaroli has been for me.
