Aye! This not be the Diplomatico Planas I heard so much about! I question the fetched up for daft lubbers who be pickin' up aromas of coconut and flowers and mint and such. Too much time on land I suppose! Sad, sad lubbers... All I be pickin' up be oak, a bit of vanilla, and maybe a wee hint of caramel. Real light in the nose, but still a classic rum smell! As for taste, she be equally light. She not be sweet, but she not be dry either. Too soon, she gets all harsh like. Not harsh like gettin' a swift kick in the plug tail by a lady of ill repute with REAL pointy shoes. No... harsh like writin' a short review with not much to say because the rum has not much to say. There be a bit of a burn goin' down the hatch, but after gettin' three sheets to the wind, you not be noticin' it as much. Might this be a good sippin' rum? Aye, she be light, but she be sturdy. Just how I like me women. Yarrgh!

I had to work a bit to figure out the name of record for this rum, as my notes referred to it as "Diplomatico aged sipping rum" with an additional note saying "this not my idea of a sipper rum."
I did, however, enjoy it very much in Daiquiri form as served by Laka Lono on 8/8/21.

Dobry bialy rum, wyczuwalne są w nim kokosy, banany i czekolada. Idealny do Pina colady.

I like to place this in my mojitos. Not my favorite but a really good rum that is not over powering

Tasted at Laka Lono on 8/8/21. Clear. Mild aroma of a chemical toluene. Nice flavor though. Easy crisp palate. Deceptive up-front sweetness.Nuttiness to the finish. Likely best mixed in a cocktail and not sipped neat.

I find myself reaching for this bottle when looking for a classic daiquiri. The flavor is crisp and refreshing.

I don't typical sip rums, so I'm rating this one as a mixer. Very nice in a classic daiquiri - seems to have a citrus overtone that blends well with the fresh lime juice. I really like this over many other white rums.

Goûté à St-John, Terre-Neuve au bar de l'hotel Alt. Intéressant en dégustation seul mais devrait être meilleur en ti-punch!

I like white rums for their primitive sides, where they are sharper, straighter, maintaining essence of the distillate character. Found this to be rather similar to the Plantation white, which is cask-matured rum, cleaned to the white rum transparency. Had opportunity to compare to the golden Diplomatico variety, and indeed - they mostly differed in color, being so similar, as to the aroma and taste.
