Tasty, but not quite great
Nejlepší bílý rum co jsem kdy měl, výborný samotný. Lahodná chuť, mohu jen doporučit. Jiný bílý rum doma nemá místo. Rád bych zajel do Destilerias Unidas S.A na exkurzi :-)
This rum is a descent sipper, with a nice smooth coconut finish, but I prefer to use it to snazz up my tiki cocktails.
Light and fruity on the nose, full of flavor with the first sip, and a long finish with a hint of sweetness left behind. Slightly over-proofed at 47% abv.
Somehow combines subtle with rich and interesting, with inoffensive and unchallenging.
When it comes to mojitos, I figure no-one will complain, and many will be pleasantly surprised. I figure that's a definition of 'recommendable to most'.
I may not rush out and buy another bottle (there's too many clairins, agricoles and Jamaican funkies to try yet) but I know I will buy another, as contrast and to introduce others to, and I know i will not be disappointed
Good mixer and maybe a sipper if you like. Not as good as the older 'blanco'. Quite soft, but this one has a bit more alcohol in the nose and palate. Toffee and caramel are present in this rum.
I have held off for months in trying this replacement for their Blanco. However, after reading enough of these reviews which mentioned notes of coconut, the 47% ABV, and it really being a gold rum aged for six years and then filtered to remove the color, I gave it a try at $29 US. I don't detect notes of coconut, but this one can indeed be sipped neat. Not many white rums can make this claim. It would also be a great mixer, allowing for rum flavors to come through without over powering the drink. I also have it rated as a good buy.
Minty with peachy citrus aroma. Smells of coconut flesh with hint of sweetness from coconut water. Complement with buttery oak aroma.
Buttery mouth feel which provide a body to it. Coconut flesh flavour, nutty almond, hint of cedar wood but balance with good tartness.
Clean and medium length finishing. Grassy notes with alcohol minty-ness.
A good white. Definitley a step above some of those a little lower in price, so worth the few extra dollars I spent for this one. Great for mojitos!
"It has a nice aged note to it – some peppery spice and a bit of chilli. Finish wise it isn’t huge but it does leave a decent hit of booze and some nice spicy oak notes. Peppery and slightly heated – notes of red chilli."
