Diplomatico Mantuano

Poctivý rum na pití ne popíjení. Na takové to z/hulákaní.

It has a very nice, almost perfect smooth round taste, but I feel something in it I would leave out. I can't identify what it is. It isn't the flavour of some fruit. It doesn't have a direction of taste I could recognise, but still, it is not a perfect round, neutral rum, because there is something in it I don't like. Also it is somewhat too sweet for me. I wouldn't have the slightest objection against this rum normally, but I am tasting it against my 8 and 9 point rums, and it is only a 7. For my taste. I was expecting something better in a bottle of such gorgeous design. I just checked its price and it is properly priced. It's a 7.

Flavors are nice but subtle. Vanilla, oak, all of the good things. Clean and not much heat. One of the better values in my opinion at $30 or so around here.

Good, not great but still fine color, smell as well and nice flavour and sweetnes, good ration price/quality, 7/10

Not bad for the price. A little sweetness in flavor. Works well with cola.

Fetch me up daft, but this be another decent rum from Diplomatico... or should I be sayin' SIPlomatico? This not be their finest outin', but it be a decent rum nonetheless. She smells like a traditional rum, with oak and a bit of spiciness. There be some kind of fruit I cannot make out, but it does brighten things up a bit. And unless I am mistook, there be a… buttery quality about it? On the tongue, she not be sweet or dry, but the fruits - which, by the horns of Nick, my tongue be blind to - balance things nicely. There be a tiny hint of bitterness, but that may be the fruits talkin'. Still, nicely balanced, like a fine dagger. She be smooth, and soft, and warm - like a fine woman - but the bitterness does linger for a bit - like a spurned woman. There be no burn goin' down the hatch tho, so that be a plus. She be a considerably smooth rum, but might she be a decent sippin' rum? I says so! If you have the sweet tooth of a pasty biscuit-eatin' lubber, you might not like this for sippin', but it also might explain why you be a lubber and not a pirate! Arrgh!

I like sweet rum as much as the next guy but I think Diplomatico often takes it to extreme. However, if you like sweet and sugary rum this one isn’t too bad with notes of orange, cinnamon and chocolate.
